Funeral service for Mrs. George W. Beaman, 79, who died Friday, March 17, at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following a short illness, was held Tuesday afternoon at the Smykil Home for Funerals. Rev. Edgar E. Walker, jr., of the Methodist church, was the officiating minister. Pallbearers were: Foss Davis, Robert Deyo, L. A. Downing, Oscar M. Miller, Leigh Pearson and Lee Sanner. Burial was made at Riverside cemetery.

Harriet, daughter of Joseph and Mary Glass, was born at Quasqueton, Iowa, Feb. 18, 1867, and was the eldest of a family of six children. She was orphaned at the age of 12.

April 11, 1894, she was married to George W. Beaman. They celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1944. Four children were born to the union.

Mrs. Beaman was a member of the Anamosa Methodist church for the last 40 years, and was a charter member of the Women's society of Christian service. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Mr. and Mrs. Beaman have lived in Anamosa 46 years, living two years in Independence, Iowa, and Creston, Iowa, four years, immediately following their marriage.

Surviving are her husband, her children, Mrs. Mildred Stucker, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Maud Lowry, Anamosa; Harry, New York City, and Bernard S., Houston, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Etta Miller, Bradley, Ill., a brother, Joe, West Palm Beach, Fla., and eight grandchildren.
