MONTICELLO - John W. T. Stahlberg died Sunday evening, Oct. 25, at John McDonald hospital after an illness of five weeks. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from St. John's Lutheran church with the Rev. C. C. Gutekunst officiating. Burial was made at Oakwood cemetery.

Born May 22, 1904, near Scotch Grove, he was the son of John W. F. and Sophia Antona Stahlberg. He attended the Jones county rural schools and was a member of St. John's Lutheran church. He was married April 12, 1939 to Edna Reuter of Monticello. They lived in Cedar Rapids, where he followed the machinist trade, until moving to Monticello 12 years ago.

Survivors include his wife Edna; three sisters, Mrs. Hayo (Dora) Tobiason of Monticello, Mrs. LeRoy (Ann) Smith of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Earl (Celena) Lehman of Monticello. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Pallbearers included Marvin Stahlberg, Ronald Stahlberg, Lyle Tobiason, Robert Reuter, James Zimmerman and Stanley Willms.
