Service for Harvey LeMoine Smith, 77, former Anamosa resident, who died at his home in Oelwein on Tuesday of last week, was held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Smykil Home for Funerals here. He was the father of Lester and Roy Smith, Anamosa.

Rev. Edgar E. Walker, jr., officiated at the funeral. Casket bearers were L. G. Freeman, William Buckner, H. C. Keseberg and Clayton Hartman. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.

Mr. Smith, son of William and Phoebe Mayberry Smith, was born Jan. 23, 1891, at Maquoketa. Except for the last 26 years, which he spent in Oelwein, Mr. Smith lived in the Anamosa community. He was a retired railroad man.

He was married on Sept. 7, 1890, to Jessie Dunning who died in 1914. On Sept. 26, 1916, he married Mrs. Susie Cox, who died in July, 1946.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Gilroy, Solon, and Mrs. Charles Norton, Anamosa; two sons Lester and Roy; two step-daughters, Mrs. Ada Heater, Oelwein, and Mrs. Flossie Black, Rock Island, Ill., eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Two children, Pearl May and Earl F., and a step daughter preceded him in death.
