OXFORD JUNCTION - Mrs. George Sley, 88, died in her home here Wednesday, June 11, at 6 a.m., following a long illness.

Funeral service was held in the Lutheran church Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. W. J. Buck officiating. Hymns were sung by Mrs. Louis Ingwersen and Mrs. Fred Lasack, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Palmer Vaughn. Floral offerings were in charge of Mrs. Fred Wosoba, Mrs. E. V. Wilmarth, Evelyn Leslie and Rita Peckosh. Casket bearers were John Miller, L. H. Biddick, Will Klahn, Harold Klahn, George Volk and Otto Zielhke. Interment was in Mayflower cemetery.

Mrs. Sley was born Hannah Beulah, August 4, 1848, in Germany and came to the United States with her parents when she was three years old. She lived in Chicago. On July 23, 1873, she married George Sley and they came to Oxford Junction. Mrs. Sley was a member of the Lutheran church and of the Birthday club.

She is survived by four sons, Edward and Vernon, Orlando, Fla.; Charles, Chicago, and L. W., Oxford Junction; two daughters, Mrs. Ed Podolak, Maquoketa, and Mrs. Ernest Schwab, Oxford Junction, and nine grandchildren. Mr. Sley died in 1924 and a daughter, Mrs. Edith Havolik, preceded her in death.

The out-of-town relatives and friends at the funeral were Edward and Vernon Sley, Orlando, Fla.; Mrs. L. W. Sley and Edith and Donald, Mrs. Carl Carter and Charles Sley, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Sley and children, Clinton; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Podolak, Maquoketa; Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Moses, Center Junction; Mr. and Mrs. Ira Schwab, Princeton; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Schwab, Springville; Mr. and Mrs. James Curtin, Marion; Mrs. E. V. Wilmarth, Wheatland, and Rita Peckosh, Dubuque.
