MARTELLE - Funeral service for August Weseman, 69, former Martelle farmer, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Johnston-Morgan funeral home, Mount Vernon.

]Mr. Weseman died of a stroke Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. at his home near Mount Vernon. He had been ill eight months.

He was born March 24, 1878, in Hanover province, Germany, and came to this country to join his brothers in Jones county when he was 18 years old.

In April, 1905, he was married to Olga Robenstein, Knoxville, Tenn. He farmed in the Cass Center and Martelle communities before he retired to live on an acreage on the Mount Vernon-Lisbon road.

He is survived by his wife; four children, Mrs. Stella Holcomb, Oelwein, Mrs. Caroline Wolfe, Mount Vernon, and Leo and Henry Weseman, Olin, and five grandchildren.
