Funeral service for Albert C. Watters, 81, president of the Anamosa Lumber Co., was held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Smykil Home for Funerals. Rev. Edgar E. Walker, jr., of the Methodist church conducted the service.

Mr. Watters died in his home Friday, April 11 at 9:30 am. of a heart attack. Burial was at the Center Grove cemetery, Dubuque.

Casket bearers for the service were Howard M. Remley, George Watters, Clyde S. Wilson, Guy Taylor, Raymond Heady and Dr. A. N. Trevarthen.

Mr. Watters was born July 1, 1865 in Dubuque and came to Anamosa with his family when he was nine months old. Graduated from Anamosa high school, he attended business college in Dubuque.

He entered the Anamosa lumber business as a young man and formed a partnership with the late Hassen Monroe. In 1908 he joined into partnership with the late Alfred G. Remley.

Albert Watters was married to Miss Harriet Dennis in Dubuque December 31, 1892. Couple had no children. They made their home in Anamosa and have lived here since.

Mr. Watters has been president of the Anamosa Lumber Co. since Mr. Remley died.

He was active in organizing the Anamosa fair when it was held years ago. He attended the Methodist church here.

Mr. Watters is survived by his wife and second cousins, John and George Watters, and John Dumont, Anamosa.
