OLIN--Funeral service for Clarence F. Mitchell, 73, was held Thursday at the United Brethren church, with Rev. W. T. Boston in charge. Mrs. Leon Stivers and Mrs. O. N. Hollingsworth sang two numbers accompanied by Mrs. Louis Rohwedder. Interment was in the Olin cemetery. Pallbearers were Clair Ralston, Edgar Simmons, Lavern Starry, Harlan Starry and Herman Hotz, all nephews of the deceased.

Clarence F., son of Lewis and Maggie Mitchell, was born June 9, 1872, in Jones Co. and died at his home in Olin Sept. 24, after suffering seven weeks with a heart ailment.

He spent his entire life in Jones Co. with the exception of several years of his young manhood when he was in Nebraska. Sept. 5, 1894, he was united in marriage to Mabel Simmons, Olin.

To this union three children were born: Mrs. Lelah Freeman, who died in 1939, Mrs. Bertha Hunter, who died in 1921, and Mrs. Lucille Smith, Olin.

Most of his life he was a house-mover and cement worker and general handyman in the community. He was a member of the Modern Woodmans lodge, Olin, until it disbanded some years ago.

Surviving are his wife, his daughter, Mrs. Ernest Smith, Olin; two brothers, Owen, Olin, and Frank, Cedar Rapids, and one sister, Mrs. Alvin Winchip, Wyoming; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
