Funeral service for Marsh Ireland, 70, who died at Mercy hospital last Friday, was held at four o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Smykil Home for Funerals in Anamosa. Rev. Edgar E. Walker, Jr., was the officiating minister, and burial was made at Antioch cemetery.
Marshall H. Ireland, son of Benjamin and Catherine Lyon Ireland, was born in Mahaska County, Ia., May 1, 1875 and died at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, Oct. 4, 1945.
At an early age he moved with his parents to Jones Co. where he has since resided.
Dec. 22, 1897, he was united in marriage to Jennie M. Rosencrans. To this union were born three daughters: Grace, Mrs. J. E. Porter; Nellie, Mrs. Ralph Miller, both of Anamosa, and Nadine, Mrs. John Fahey, Watertown, S.D.
In addition he is survived by one brother, Robert E. Ireland, and a sister, Mrs. Peter Wolfe, both of Anamosa; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
