Mary Remley Browning, 55, daughter of the late Judge H. M. Remley, Anamosa, died Tuesday at her home in Iowa City, following a long illness.

She was born in Anamosa and graduated from the high school here. She was a graduate of the University of Iowa, Iowa City, and taught school prior to her marriage to Earl S. Browning June 23, 1916, at Anamosa. She was a member of the Baptist church in Anamosa.

Funeral service will be held at the Donahue mortuary in Iowa City at two o'clock Friday afternoon, and burial will be at Riverside cemetery near Anamosa in the Remley family lot. Two brothers, James E. and Alfred G., reside at Anamosa.

Other survivors include her husband, a son, Capt. Staten Browning, overseas; four daughters, Beth James, whose husband, Lieut. Robert James, has just returned from overseas; Margaret, Eleanor and Marilyn, all students at Iowa City.
