ONSLOW--William J. Lynch, son of the late James and Mary Jane Lynch, was born March 23, 1889, at Olin, and died Sunday, Jan. 14, 1945, at Mercy hospital, Anamosa. He had been in ill health for some time becoming seriously ill a few days before entering the hospital.

He came to Onslow when a small child, and has spent his entire life at Onslow, except one year spent in service, being a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 259. One brother, James F. Lynch, Dubuque, and three nephews, Paul Lynch, Dubuque, and Sergt. Wayne K. Lynch and Pvt. Max M. Lynch, both overseas. His mother and father preceeded him in death. Funeral service was held Tuesday morning at St. Peter's church, Temple Hill, by the Rev. Eugene Lorenz, with burial in St. Peter's cemetery, near the church.
