CENTER JUNCTION - Ethel Stingley, wife of Harry E. Stingley, Center Junction, died at her home late last Friday night, from a heart attack.

Born Oct. 27, 1890, on a farm in Scotch Grove township, she was the daughter of John B. Moses and Clara Salina Hughes. Her entire life, with the exception of ten years, was spent in this community. She was a graduate of the Monticello high school, and attended Beloit college, and the University of Illinois.

On April 25, 1912, she was married to Harry E. Stingley, and the home was made at Robinson and Donnon Junction for ten years. Family returned to Center Junction in 1921, where she lived until her death.

Service was conducted in the home Tuesday afternoon, by the Rev. F. G. Tyrrell, Highland, Ind., former pastor of the Presbyterian church, assisted by Albert Schroeder, student pastor. Dorothy Driebelbis and Lyle Thompson, accompanied by Mrs. T. E. Stanton, sang the hymns. Burial was made in the Scotch Grove cemetery. Casketbearers were Frank Sutherland, Frank Himebaugh, Sam Thompson, J. R. McNeilly, Sam Thompson, J. R. McNeilly, Truman Stanton and Gus Driebelbis.

Relatives from a distance at the funeral included Jacob Stingley, Corpus Christi, Texas; John N. Hughes and Mr. and Mrs. Hearst Duncan, Des Moines; Will P. Hughes, Council Bluffs, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Stingley, Mrs. W. E. Spohn and Mrs. Kit Stingley, Cedar Falls; Ed Hughes, Marion; Mr. and Mrs. Myrick Shover and Mrs. John Wallace, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Tom Shover and Mrs. John Shover, Monticello.

She was a member of the Presbyterian church. She had held offices in all organizations of the church, and taught a class of young girls in the Sunday school until a little over a year ago, when her health failed. She was a member of the Eastern Star and a charter member of the Center Junction Woman's club.

Surviving besides her husband, are her three children, Maurine Dirks and Hollyce Manley, Center Junction; and Jack W. Stingley, F. 1/C, S. A., stationed at Corpus Christi, Texas. She also leaves four grandchildren and one brother, Merlin Moses, Center Junction. Her parents and her brother, Charles, preceded her in death.
