SNYDER, BYE, LUMADUE, RANDS

7 September 1944 - The Anamosa Journal

William F. Snyder, former Anamosa resident, died Friday in a Cedar Rapids hospital following a long illness. Funeral service was held in the Turner chapel, Cedar Rapids, Saturday. Dr. Charles J. Bready officiated. Burial was in Cedar Memorial park.

He was born Feb. 26, 1880, at Anamosa, and was married to Florence Bye, May 3, 1904 at Marion. He was an employee of the Quaker Oats company for 28 years until his retirement May 29, 1943. He was a member of St. Paul's Methodist church in Cedar Rapids.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Kenneth L. Snyder, Cedar Rapids, and Lawrence L. Snyder, a navy petty officer stationed at San Diego, Calif., two sisters, Mrs. Nell Lumadue, Portland, Ore., and Mrs. L. J. Rands, Anamosa; a grandson, Kenneth L. Snyder, jr., Cedar Rapids and several neices and nephews.

Those from Anamosa who attended the service included Mr. and Mrs. Harley Snyder, Alfred Snyder, Mrs. Harley Coleman, Mrs. L. R. Bunce, Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Yount, Mr. and Mrs. George Bye, Mrs. Stella H. Snyder and Mrs. Jessie Vesey.
