OXFORD JUNCTION - Funeral service was held Monday afternoon at two o'clock from the Methodist church for John Bieber, 69, who died Friday afternoon in the Saint Joseph hospital at Davenport, where he had been for the last three weeks.

The Rev. Fred C. Maurer officiated and Zealous lodge A.F. and A.M. had charge of the service at the grave. Hymns were sung by Mrs. Fred Lasack, Mrs. L. L. Lang, Earline Huston and Mrs. Fred Sacora, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Palmer Vaughn. Floral offerings were in charge of Mrs. Vern Johnson, Mrs. Henry Hunwardsen, Mrs. Frank Moravec, and Mrs. Joe Barto.

Pallbearers were Frank Powelka, Louis Mizaur, Frank Moravec, Henry Wieneke, Joseph Barto, and Vern Johnson. Interment was in the Mayflower cemetery.

John Bieber was born Dec. 29, 1874, at Baldwin. He was married to Anna Dolezal of Oxford Junction, Nov. 9, 1903. They always made their home here, where Mr. Bieber was in business as a plumber for many years, and for seven years he was janitor of the school building, retiring three years ago.

He is survived by his wife, five brothers, Alvin, Baldwin; George, Waterloo; Arch and Vern, Maquoketa; and Melvin, Anamosa; and three sisters, Mrs. Jennie Griffis, Tipton; Mamie Bieber, Ottumwa; and Mrs. Hattie Morrow, Wall Lake. One daughter proceeded him in death.
