Funeral service for Mrs. E. L. Anderson, 76, who died at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following a major operation, was held Friday afternoon from the Methodist church in Wyoming with the pastor, the Rev. E. G. Steinman officiating. Mrs. William Peck and Ruth Ann Tompkins sang two numbers, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Claude Sears.

Kate L. Pavey, daughter of William and Priscilla Pavey, was born May 3, 1868, in Johnsontown, north of Onslow. She attended the Anamosa schools, and taught in the rural schools of the county.

Dec. 12, 1889, she was married to Elias L. Anderson, Wyoming, and the home was established on the farm west of Wyoming. In 1914, they moved into their present home in Wyoming. In 1939 they observed their 50th wedding anniversary.

She was a member of the Methodist church, and an active worker in its various organizations. She was also an active member of the Woman's Relief corps and the Progressive and C.T.T. clubs.

Surviving are her husband, three children: Mrs. Mildred (Nelson) Brownwell, Stanwood, Russell Anderson, on the home farm, and Mrs. Erma (George) Paulsen, Onslow; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Son, Arthur Paul, died in infancy. Two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.

Smith, Peoria, Oscar Erickson, Britt; Mrs. Andrew Anderson and son, Dillon, Mrs. Paul Anderson, all of Rock Island; Mr. and Mrs. Corwin Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anderson, Floyd Anderson, jr., all of Moline, Ill.; Mrs. Wilbur Anderson and family, Cedar Rapids, and a large number of friends from Onslow.
