31 August 1944 - The Anamosa Journal

Funeral service for Charles Henry Brown, 58, who died Sunday, Aug. 27, at his home near Anamosa, will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Loder Funeral home. Rev. J. K. Delahooke, pastor of the Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be at Riverside cemetery.

He was born March 10, 1886, and spent his entire life here, following the trade of stone mason. His wife preceded him in death seven years ago. Surviving is one son, Carl, Seattle, Wash.

Funeral service for Charles H. Brown, 82, was held Friday afternoon at the Loder funeral home, Rev. J. K. Delahooke officiating. Burial was at Riverside cemetery.

Charles H. Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ebenezer Brown, was born at Anamosa, March 10, 1862, and died at his home near Anamosa, Aug. 27, 1944 at 5 p.m.

Mr. Brown spent his entire life in and around the community of his birth. Aug. 9, 1882, he was united in marriage to Miss Ada Ellis, and to this union three sons were born, two dying in infancy. He was preceded in death by his wife Aug. 4, 1937.

Surviving are one son, Carl Brown, Bremerton, Wash., who is employed by the Army Engineers on Attu. Mr. Brown had not been in ill health, but died while he slept in his chair, as he had been listening to his radio.
