WYOMING--Funeral service for William Westphal, 54, who died Friday afternoon at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following an illness resultant of four major operations in six months, was held Sunday at 2:30 pm. from the Lutheran church in Wyoming. The Rev. H. Graening was in charge with burial int he Wyoming cemetery.
Deceased was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, Aug. 27, 1890. He came to the vicinity of Wyoming in 1906, and worked on farms. For 11 years he was employed on the Levsen farms near Clarence. In 1926 he was united in marriage to Miss Minna Martensen, Wyoming, and the home thereafter was on farms in the Wyoming community.
He is survived by his widow, three daughters and one son; Idalene, Doris, Verna Mae and Donald, all at home; two sisters, Mrs. Louis Buchholtz, Wyoming, and Mrs. Carl Grabbe, Anamosa. Also, supposedly his parents and a brother and sister in Germany. They were last heard from two years ago.
