March 22, 1945 - The Anamosa Journal

OXFORD JUNCTION--Mrs. Antonia Wasoba, 78, died early Monday morning. She had been in ill health for the last three years.

She was born in Bohemia, and married Michael Wasoba, Oxford Junction, in Petersburg, Va. They have made their home here for more than 39 years.

She is survived by her husband, a son and daughter of a former marriage, Charles Halopsky and Mrs. Rosa Schlefta, New York City, and also George Wasoba, New Washington, O., Benjamin Wasoba, Chicago, and Mrs. Anna Everett, Maquoketa, and a step son, John Wasoba, Oxford Junction.

Body was brought to the Hayden mortuary, and funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon.

March 29, 1945 - The Anamosa Journal

OXFORD JUNCTION - Funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Michael Wasoba at the Hayden funeral home, with Rev. Fred C. Maurer in charge. Hymns sung by Mrs. A. E. Hodoval, Mrs. Louis Ingwersen and Mrs. Otto Koranda, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Ernest Schwab.

Those serving as pallbearers were Vit Lasack, Frank Henak, Mike Vacek, Frank Bruckner, Vince Lasack and Frank Nowachek. Interment was in the Mayflower cemetery.
