MORLEY--Wilburt Pye, 85, Morley, died Thursday, Oct. 25, at his home in Morley.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m., at the Campbell Funeral home, Olin. Sammie Weaver officiated at the services. Burial was in Green Center cemetery.

Pallbearers included Harlan Tallman, Ivan Duncan, Paul Meineke, George Wooder, Willard Haak and John Lewis Willison.

Mrs. Delbert Smith was pianist. Mrs. George Wooder was soloist.

He was born March 20, 1877, youngest son of Edward and Jane Ann Barns Pye, in Ohio. His parents pioneered to Kansas by way of covered wagon when he was an infant. He was preceded in death by his parents when he was three years old.

He grew to manhood in Kansas and in 1908 came to Jones county, Iowa, where he spent the remainder of his life. He was engaged in farming until the time of his retirement.

He was married July 29, 1910, to Rachel Ellen Barrett at the parsonage in Anamosa. Rev. Whetzell performed the ceremony. He was a member of the Morley Methodist church.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Eugene Pye, Morley; two daughters, Byrdena, Mrs. Milton Bader, Hazel Green, Wis.; and Mildred, Mrs. Fred Sanders, Tipton, eight grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, and one daughter, Nina Evelyn, who died in infancy.

Relatives from out-of-town attending the service included a grandson, PFC Arnold D. Pye, Utah; Mr. and Mrs. George Mitchell and two daughters, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisc.; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Barrett, Mrs. Angus Mitchell, Mrs. Gladys Pepmeyer and Mrs. Steve Philmore, all of Marin, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pye, Dubuque.
