OXFORD JUNCTION--Funeral service for John N. Marks, 83, was held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock from the Hayden Funeral home. The Rev. Fred C. Maurer had charge of the service. Hymns were sung by Mrs. A. E. Hodoval, Mrs. Fred Sacora, and Mrs. Louis Ingwersen, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Palmer Vaughn. Those serving as casket bearers were Fred Wasoba, A. E. Hodoval, Fred Harms, Austin Conwell, Mike Souhrada, and Frank Nowachek. Burial was in Mayflower cemetery.

John Marks was born at Toronto, April 21, 1861. He died on Thursday morning, Sept. 7, in his home here, after a three weeks' illness following a stroke of apoplexy. He was married to Sarah Boyd, Mechanicsville, in December, 1889. They have lived in Oxford Junction for many years, where Mr. Marks was employed by the Milwaukee Railroad company until retiring some time ago.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Pearl MacGregor and a half-brother, Harry Fox, Oxford Junction, and a half-sister, Mrs. Nettie Wadding, Iowa City, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
