J. W. "Burt" Hanna, former Anamosa resident, died early Sunday morning, Feb. 28, at Oakland, Calif., after being in poor health for some time. Mr. Hanna who was raised in Jones county, was dispatcher on the Southern railway company for 30 years, having retired recently.

He is survived by his wife, who is a sister of J. K. Hale and W. A. Hale, Anamosa, two step-sons, and J. Kelsey Hanna, Morley. Three brothers are H. P. Hanna, Anamosa, E. M. Hanna, Central City, and Jess Hanna, East Grand Forks, Minn.
