Adelbert Yount, 88, Anamosa, died Friday, Sept. 21, at the Onslow Rest home, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 24, at 2 p.m., at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa. Rev. Walter D. Wigger officiated at the services. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.

Pallbearers included James W. Peet, Bernell Schwirtz, Glenn Brokaw, Everett Mayberry, Walter Hindenach and Bernard Graham.

He was born Dec. 2, 1873, son of Joseph Yount and Ida Pierce Yount, Anamosa. He was married to Hilda Ostrum on Jan. 27, 1896, at Anamosa.

He had worked on road construction until his retirement. He was a member of Modern Woodmen.

Survivors include a son, Harold Yount, Anamosa; four sisters, Mrs. Ella Powers, Sheridan, Wyo.; Mrs. Elma Berry, Orange, Calif. Mrs. Lula Hatrum, Davenport; and Mrs. Clara King, Mitchell, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1957; a daughter, Vera, 1954; three sisters and two brothers.
