Funeral service for Frederick E. Taylor, 74, who died last Thursday at his home in Anamosa, was held Saturday at the Smykil Home for Funerals. Rev. Homer E. Dalrymple was the officiating minister. Interment was in the Olin cemetery.

Frederick E., son of Edwin and Katherine Taylor, was born near Monticello, Aug. 20, 1870, and spent nearly his entire life on farms in Jones county. In 1934 he moved to Anamosa, where the family home has since been made.

Dec. 16, 1896, he was united in marriage to Frances Brickley in Olin. Four children were born to the union. One son, Pvt. Ernest Taylor, died in 1918 during World War I. He joined the Congregational church and the Knights of Pythias lodge after moving to Anamosa.

Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Ralston, Summitsville, Ind.; two sons, Edwin, Rock Island, Ill., and Clarence, Olin; three sisters, Mrs. J. I. Brownell and Mrs. J. A. Hause, Hopkinton, and Mrs. C. A. Robertson, Pittsville, Wis.; one brother, Charles Taylor, Maquoketa; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
