September 12, 1963 - The Anamosa Eureka

Mrs. Margaret Etta Folkers, 80, Anamosa, died Saturday, Sept. 7, at Stoecker Nursing home.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 9, at 1:30 p.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran church. Rev. LaVerne Beener conducted the services. Burial was at Antioch cemetery.

Pallbearers included Lowell Lincoln, Alva Freese, Jack Husmann, Darvin Hardersen, Clarence Nielsen, and James Marek.

She was born Oct. 10, 1882 at Scotch Grove, daughter of Garret and Anna Rieken Siebels. She was married to Fred W. Folkerts, Dec. 23, 1909, who preceded her in death. During their married life, they farmed near Amber, since 1941. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church, Anamosa.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Fred Dirks, Anamosa; two sons, Carl, Anamosa, and Lawrence, Olin; one sister, Mrs. Ben Wroblewski, Central City; five brothers, Will and Hank Siebels, Anamosa; George Siebels, Amber; Rhinehard and J. H. Siebels, Monticello; and two grandchildren.

Beside her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one son, George.
