November 12, 1962 - The Anamosa Journal

Mrs. Dorothy Mae Bailey, 48, Cedar Rapids, former resident of Anamosa, was killed instantly when struck by a train early Saturday morning, Oct. 20, in Cedar Rapids.

Private funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 22, at the Passover Funeral home, Central City, at 2 p.m. Burial was in Spring Grove cemetery, Central City.

She was born Nov. 19, 1913, daughter of Lester Ankney and Barbara Wolf Ankney, Anamosa. She attended the Anamosa schools. She was married in 1932 to Perry Bailey. He preceded her in death in July, 1960.

Survivors include her father, Lester Ankney, Anamosa; nine children and six grandchildren.

Others include six sisters, Laura Ankney, Marion; Esther, Mrs. Vernie Dudley, Cedar Rapids; Stella, Mrs. Kenneth Harms, Monticello; Grace Menzier, Cedar Rapids; Rita, Mrs. Louis Price, Central City; Josephine, Mrs. Cecil Eye, Maquoketa, several nieces and nephews.

Beside her husband she was preceded in death by her mother.
