WYOMING--Mrs. Katherine L. Brainard, Wyoming, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, at Independence, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 4, at 2 p.m. at the Hayden Funeral home, Wyoming, Rev. John Moore, Cedar Rapids, conducted the service. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery.

She was born March 27, 1882, daughter of Sam and Ada St. John Starry, Pleasant Hill. She was married to John Pealer in 1900 and lived in the Wyoming area during this marriage. She was married to S. C. Brainard in 1912.

Survivors include a son, George Pealer, sr., Cedar Rapids; one daughter, Mrs. Theodore Cleve, Louisville, Ky.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Esther Kock, Williamston, Mass.; Mrs. Dorthy Baumback, Sierra Madre, Calif.; and Mrs. Hugo Ruckman, Davenport.

Others include two step-sons, Cedric Brainard, Davenport; and Darrell Brainard, Wheatland; four sisters, Mrs. Richard Ramsey, Alexandria, Okla.; Mrs. Byron Davis, Yukon, Okla.; Mrs. Raymond Lynn, Oklahoma City, Okla.; and Mrs. Lawrence Berg, Ocean City, Miss.; and 21 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband.
