Funeral service for Harry A. Rhoads, 68, who died at his home in Anamosa following a week's illness, was held Monday at 2 p.m. Rev. J. K. Delahooke officiating, with arrangements in charge of Smykil funeral home. Casketbearers included his six nephews, Elwood Rhoads, Howard Rhoads, Forest Rhoads, Frank Rhoads, Donald Overbaugh and Horace Overbaugh. Burial was in the family lot at Cedar Memorial park, Cedar Rapids.

Mr. Rhoads died early Saturday, October 30.

Mr. Rhoads, son of David and Catherine Rhoads, was born Aug. 27, 1875, at the family home south of Mechanicsville. He grew up in Cedar county, receiving his education there and attending college at Toledo.

On Sept. 11, 1912, he married Lucy J. Day, Cedar Rapids. Their entire married life was spent farming until they retired in Anamosa. Last year Mr. Rhoads accepted a position in Stuhler's store.

Mr. Rhoads was a member of the Knights of Pythias lodge and of the Pythian Sisters. At the time of his death, he was Master of Finance in the K.P. lodge.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two step-daughters, Mrs. Leola Gray, Anamosa, and Mrs. Izetta Helbig, Cedar Rapids; four brothers, Gene and Charles, Mechanicsville, Joe, Cedar Rapids, and John, California; one sister, Mrs. Cecil Overbaugh, Mechanicsville. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Betty Gray, Anamosa, Lieut. J. D. Murfield, Columbus, Ind.; Patty Murfield and Linda Lee Helbig, Cedar Rapids.
