DIXIE LEE HOLLINGSWORTH
Olin

Dixie Lee Hollingsworth, 81, of Olin, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, at the Clarence Nursing Home.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Olin Cemetery at a later date. Dawson Funeral Services of Olin is assisting the family at this time.
Dixie was born on June 6, 1939, at home in Olin, Iowa, to Donald Claire and Harriett Olive (Fall) Moreland. She graduated from Olin Consolidated High School in 1956. On June 9, 1957, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Newton Junior "Tuffy" Hollingsworth, in Olin. After they were married, they lived in Louisiana for a short time while Tuffy was in the U.S. Army. After discharge from the Army, they moved back to Olin.
She worked as a secretary at the Olin School, was a homemaker, sold Avon, worked at Kimball's Grocery Store and Bob's Grocery & Meats in Olin, and later retiring from Family Foods in Anamosa. But the most important job she had was being a mom and grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their school events. She was most proud of the way her children and her grandchildren grew up to be such fine people. She was a member of the Olin Community Methodist Church. She was also a member of Pythian Sister's and Order of the Eastern Star.
Dixie was a Hawkeyes fan and enjoyed going to football and Bowl games with friends. She enjoyed crafts and ceramics. She also enjoyed going to the casino. She would liked to be remembered as a lady who enjoyed life and liked to have fun.
Those left to cherish her memories are two children, Jeffrey Allen Hollingsworth of Marion and Sheila Kay (Todd) Rouse of Olin; two grandsons, Brock Allen (Kari) Rouse of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Joshua Jon Rouse of Denver, Colo.; two great-grandchildren, Lincoln Allen and Ava Ann Rouse; one brother, Ronald Moreland of Lisbon; and one sister, Nancy Marlette of Winter Haven, Fla.
She is preceded death by her parents and her husband, Tuffy, who passed away in 2003.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to everyone at the Clarence Assisted Living and Nursing Home for taking such great care of Mom.
Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dawsonfuneral.com.
