OXFORD JUNCTION--Ed Benhart, 54, Oxford Junction, died Saturday morning, June 15, at his home, following an extended illness.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, June 17, at 2, at the Methodist church. Rev. Kenneth Perinchief conducted the service. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery. Hayden Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased including Melvin Benhart, Kenneth Benhart, Ferdinand Burda, Roger Ingwersen, Junior Koranda and Kenneth Ray Benhart.
He was born Dec. 12, 1908, son of Otto and Mary Buresh Benhart, Oxford Junction. He was married Jan. 15, 1930, to Anna Rose Burda, Oxford Jct.
Couple farmed for 20 years west of Oxford Junction before moving to town where he was employed by the Milwaukee R. R. until the time of his death.
He was a member of the Methodist church, Knights of Pythias and Z.C.B.J. Bohemian lodge.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Donna, Mrs. Keith Barber, Oxford Junction; Carol, Mrs. Terry Hall, Marion; and his father, Otto Benhart, Oxford Junction.
Others include one sister, Mrs. Mildred Berner, Oxford Junction; six brothers, Fred, Raymond and James, Oxford Junction; Otto, Jr., Clinton; Merle, Joliet, Ill.; and Leonard, Cedar Rapids; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Louie.
