ONSLOW--Funeral service was held Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Louisa Warren, 87, at the Presbyterian church by the Rev. Frank Schroeder pasotr. Mrs. Wilson Briggs sang, accompanied by Mrs. C. R. Smith. Pallbearers were George Paulsen, George French, James Kennedy, Isaac Edwards, C. O. Lightfoot and R. J. Keineck.

Louisa Jane Couley was born April 17, 1857, near Onslow and died Oct. 24 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hugh Keister, Maquoketa, where she had gone eight weeks before to be cared for. She was united in marriage to James Warren July 3, 1876. To this union seven children were born, two dying in infancy and one son, Grover, in 1912. Her husband preceded her in death in 1935. Four children survive, Hiram Eugene, Stayton, Ore.; Ben L., Onslow; Mrs. Hulda Allen, Wyoming, and Mrs. Alta Keister, Maquoketa. Five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Elma Propst, Monmouth, also survive. Grandson, Leo Warren, was killed in Italy in December, 1943.

Mrs. Warren was a great worker for the good of the community, having made and sent a contribution of a box of supplies including tray cloth, handkerchiefs and six small afghans which she had made herself to the veterans of Schick general hospital, Clinton, only the first part of October.

Burial was in the family lot at the Mineral cemetery, northeast of Onslow.
