Gilbert Carl Wilkins, 75, Anamosa, died Friday, Oct. 4, at University hospital, Iowa City.

Funeral services were held Sunday Oct. 6, at 1:30 p.m., at the McNamara Funeral home, Anamosa. Rev. J. Ellis Webb conducted the service. Burial was in Green cemetery, near Morley.

Pallbearers included Leo Benischek, LaVern Townsend, Dale French, Virgil Soukup, Neal Townsend and Randy Townsend.

He was born Aug. 6, 1888, son of Abram Wilkins and Olive Axline Wilkins, Olin. He had lived his life in the Anamosa area. He had worked as a farmer, and as a laborer at Anamosa Lumber Co.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Vera E. Smith, Olin, and Mrs. Grace Smith, Arkansas, and one brother, Fredus, Oxford Junction.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Victor Wilkins.
