OXFORD JUNCTION--Funeral service for John R. Walston, 78, a pioneer farmer of Jones county, was held Monday afternoon, Oct. 25, at Hayden funeral home. Rev. Fred C. Maurer conducted the service and burial was in Mayflower cemetery.

John Walston was born in Jones county June 9,1865, the son of William and Sarah Walston. He was married to Ella Huggins, Wyoming, and they farmed near Hale. Mrs. Walston died a number of years ago, and Mr. Walston remarried March 29, 1912. After his second marriage the home was made in Des Moines, where Mr. Walston died Friday, Oct. 22, of apoplexy.

He is survived by his wife, and nine children: John, Floyd and Irvin, Conrad, Mont.; Richard, Commerce; Roy, Des Moines; Elmer, New Sharon; Walter, Adel; and Mrs. Alta Godwin, Boone; and Mrs. Ethel Walter, Des Moines.
