WYOMING--Funeral service for Matthias Thomsen, 52, who died last Wednesday in Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following a few weeks' illness was held Friday afternoon at the Lutheran church in Wyoming. The Rev. H. Graening, pastor, officiated, with burial in the Wyoming cemetery.
Mr. Thomsen was born Aug. 20, 1892, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. He and Matilda Schlimmer were united in marriage Feb. 22, 1915. He lived on farms in Jones county, and his present home was on a farm between Wyoming and Center Junction.
Surviving are his widow and seven children: Mrs. Walter Holtz, Onslow; Mrs. John Hinrichs, Grantsburg, Wis.; Mrs. John Riches, Wyoming; Mrs. Clifford Parmenter, Anamosa; Julius, at home; Marvin, Onslow, and Arnold, in the Navy; seven grandchildren, a brother Hans Thomsen, Los Angeles, Calif., and other brothers and sisters in Germany. One son preceded him in death.
