High requiem mass was celebrated at the St. Patrick's Catholic church this Thursday morning by Father J. A. McMahon for John James McCabe, 89, who died March 7, at Mercy hospital.

He was born Feb. 18, 1855 in New York, son of Patrick McCabe and Margaret Gregory, both from Ireland. He made his home for the last few years at the Brown hotel, but had lived in Anamosa for 25 years.

Funeral was in charge of the McNamara funeral home.
