MONTICELLO--Funeral service was held Tuesday at the Iverson Funeral home for Mrs. Harm Dirks, 53, who died Saturday at an Iowa City hospital. Following the service at the funeral home, rites were conducted at the Wayne Zion Evangelical Lutheran church.

Mrs. Dirks was born in Germany, Sept. 12, 1886, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerd Zimmerman. She came with her parents to this country in 1900, and was confirmed in the Lutheran church in Wayne township March 31, 1901.

She was married Dec. 5, 1907 to Harm J. Dirks. The couple lived for many years on a farm in Wayne township, and later near Scott Grove. Mr. Dirks died two years ago.

Survivors include five children, Herman, Monticello; Mrs. Emma Tapken, Anamosa; Edward, Lizzie and Alva, all at home. Three brothers, Ralph, Gerd and Mino, and three grandchildren also survive.
