26 August 1943 - The Anamosa Journal

OXFORD JUNCTION--Word was received here Monday of the death last Monday of Argus Frutchey at the U. S. Veteran's Facilities, Dwight, Ill. Mr. Frutchey was a veteran of the World war I and for the last 33 years had lived in Oxford Junction in the home of Mrs. Mary Burian.

He was an employee of the Chicago, Milwaukee railroad and had gone to the hospital three weeks ago to take treatment for heart trouble. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. S. B. McCall, Savanna, Ill.

Funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon at the Fuller funeral home, Savanna, Ill., for Argus Frutchey, former Oxford Junction man whose death was announced last week.

Rev. T. Stuart Cleworth, Maquoketa, and the American Legion were in charge of the service. Burial was at the Savanna cemetery.

Mr. Frutchey was born in Lisbon and went to Oxford Junction in 1910, where he made his home until a few weeks ago when he went to the home of his sister, Mrs. S. B. McCall at Savanna. Veteran of the first World war, he was taken to Veteran's hospital at Dwight, Ill., where he died Monday, Aug. 23.
