Mrs. Gerd Tholen, jr., who lived west of Viola, died last Tuesday at 1:15 p.m. at Mercy hospital in Anamosa. She was 43 years of age.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 12:15 p.m. at Beam and Miller chapel in Anamosa and at Monticello at 1 p.m. at the Lutheran church. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Harvey Stutt, Fred Stutt, Louis Stutt and Melvin Tobiason, all of Monticello, John Theilen, Anamosa, and Richard Schoon, Scotch Grove.

Mrs. Tholen was born Emma Tobiason, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Tobiason, on Oct. 1, 1898, in Wayne center. She attended Wayne schools. Later she was married at Monticello to Gerd Tholen, jr.

Five children, all living at home, are Dwayne, Delbert, Joann, Betty Lou and Imogene.

Other survivors are three brothers, Mitchell, Henry and Tobias Tobiason, all of Monticello, and Mrs. Hayo Schoon, Scotch Grove.
