Funeral service for George Finn, Anamosa, who died last Friday after a brief illness was held at St. Patrick's church Monday at 9:30 a.m. Rev. P. J. Behan officiated. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery at Anamosa with the McNamara Funeral home in charge.
Casket bearers were Kenneth Humpal, Harley Snyder, Francis McNally, Vincent McGreevy, John Miller, and Frank Hayes.
George Finn was born Dec. 3, 1886 at Cascade, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Finn. He was married to Lora Kelly Nov. 17, 1914 at St. Patrick's church in Anamosa. Mr. Finn farmed all of his life in Jones county with the exception of the last five years when he was employed as a guard at the Men's Reformatory at Anamosa. He was a member of the Catholic church all his life.
Survivors are his wife, son, Bill, Anamosa; Mrs. George Marak, Cedar Rapids; Merlin, Raymond, Mary Lou, Maxine, Maldean and Thomas at home. Also surviving are one grandchild, Marlyn Jean Finn, Anamosa; a brother, James Finn, Cascade; and one sister, Mrs. Hugh Duffy, Cascade.
