Funeral services for Dave Benischek, 74, were held Feb. 9 at Oxford Junction, with the Rev. Ramon Booth in charge. Burial was in Mayflower cemetery, Oxford Junction, with the American Legion in charge.

Mr. Benischek died in an ambulance while on his way to a Cedar Rapids hospital after suffering a heart attack in Tipton. He was on his way home from downtown Tipton when he suffered the heart attack. He had been a resident of Tipton since last fall when he and his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Benischek, moved to Tipton.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. John Benischek, he was born at Oxford Junction Dec. 1, 1889. He and his brother, Sylvester, farmed together between Wyoming and Oxford Junction from 1915 until last year, with the exception of the World War I period when Mr. Benischek served overseas and was in the army of occupation.

He is survived by 2 brothers, Edward of Anamosa and Sylvester of Tipton, and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Jansen, of Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers.
