December 26, 1940 - The Anamosa Journal

Mrs. C. H. Mellecker, Anamosa, died suddenly at her home Tuesday noon, following a lingering illness.

Funeral arrangements had not been made at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Beam & Miller funeral home will be in charge of arrangements.

January 2, 1941 - The Anamosa Journal

Funeral service was held at the Congregational church last Thursday for Mrs. C. H. Mellecker, Anamolsa, who died Dec. 24, at her home. Rev. Homer E. Dalrymple officiated.

Mrs. Mellecker was born June 14, 1880 at Richland, the daughter of Benson and Amanda Bottorff. She graduated from Richland high school and studied music at Iowa City and later taught music.

She was married to Charles H. Mellecker, June 12, 1900. She was a member of the Francis Shaw chapter of the D.A.R. and the Eastern Star.

Survivors besides her husband are: two sons, Brooks, Winfield; and Jack, Kalamazoo, Mich.; three grandsons and one granddaughter; and one sister, Mrs. A. C. Robinson, Richland.

Beam & Miller were in charge of arrangements and burial took place at Riverside cemetery.
