September 13, 1962 - The Anamosa Eureka

OXFORD JUNCTION--Mrs. James Nowachek, 79, died Saturday afternoon, Sept. 8, at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, after a brief illness. Body was brought to the Hayden funeral home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 1:30 p.m. at the Methodist church with Rev. Kenneth Perinchief officiating. Singers were Mrs. Otto Koranda and Mrs. Hans Ahrendsen with Miss Jean Koranda at the organ. Floral offerings were in charge of three granddaughters, Mrs. Robert Wycoff, Mrs. Jack Troop and Mrs. Mary Jerry Eichhorn.

Serving as casketbearers were Fred Burda, Louie Buresh, Edward Benhart, Jerry Eichhorn, Jack Troop and Robert Wycoff. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Mary Benhart was born in January, 1883, in Oxford township, Jones county, the daughter of Mike and Katie Kulhavy Benhart. She had always lived here. She was united in marriage to James Nowachek Oct. 3, 1905. Couple farmed in this area. He died Feb. 27, 1960.

Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Hans (Agnes) Petersen and Miss Helen Nowachek, Oxford Junction; Mrs. Stanley (Lillian) Eichhorn; and Mrs. Gordon (Louise) Hall, Algona; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; a brother, Otto Benhart, and a sister, Mrs. Anna Buresh,
