5 July 1962 - The Anamosa Eureka

MORLEY--C. Earl Duncan, 82, Morley, died Tuesday, July 3, at his farm home near Morley, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6, at 2 p.m., at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa. Samuel Weaver will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Greene cemetery.

Pallbearers include DeWayne Emerson, Darrell Blayney, Robert Duncan, Lawrence Duncan, Merle Meeks and Donald Meeks.

He was born Nov. 16, 1879, son of Peter Duncan and Sarah McMurrin Duncan, near Morley. He was married March 1903 to Myrtle Blayney. He made his home on a farm near Morley.

He attended the Academy at Mount Vernon and Dixon college, Dixon, Ill. He taught school one term in Green school.

Survivors includes his wife, Myrtle; two sons, Roscoe, Cedar Rapids; and Ivan, Olin; two brothers, Roy Duncan, Martelle; and Orville Duncan, Mount Vernon; one sister, Mrs. Lillian Meeks, Martelle, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
