Mrs. J. K. Hanna, 69, Anamosa, died unexpectedly following a heart attack on Monday night, June 4, at her home near Morley.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 7, at 1:30 p.m., at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa. Howard Anthony, Malcom, officiated at the services. Burial was in Cedar Memorial cemetery.
Pallbearers included Noble Parish, Coralville; Herbert Bergloff, Cedar Rapids; Henry Husmann, Martelle; Burton Brown, Delbert Brickley and Kenneth Humpal.
She was born Mabel A. Grimm, July 10, 1892, daughter of Edgar H. Grimm and Emma White Grimm, near Center Junction. She was married Feb. 19, 1913, to John K. Hanna, sr., at Anamosa.
Couple farmed for a short time in Minnesota before locating on a farm in Jones county, in the Anamosa area, where they have since made their home.
Survivors include her husband, John; two sons, John, jr., Anamosa; and Robert A., Denver, Colo.; one brother, Dr. R. C. Grimm, Dubuque; two sisters, Miss Zelma Grimm, Cedar Rapids; and Lila, Mrs. Dwight Brause, Tuscon, Ariz., and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter and one sister.
