Funeral service for Edgar E. Boots, 88, Monticello, father of Erwin Boots, Anamosa, was held Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the Goettsch chapel with burial in Oakwood cemetery.

Mr. Boots died Sunday, Dec. 14, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harry Barlow, in Monticello. Born in Sycamore, Ill., he was married to Juliette Reed at Anamosa on Feb. 28, 1876, and they lived at Earlville and Hopkinton before moving to Monticello in 1912.

Besides his son in Anamosa, Mr. Boots is survived by nine children; 32 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one sister and four brothers.
