August 30, 1962 - The Anamosa Eureka

Mrs. E. L. Kromminga, 78, Anamosa, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, at her home at 600 S. Garnavillo, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Lutheran church, Monticello. Rev. Richard Zellmer and Rev. Anton Kirkegaard will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Monticello. Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, has charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers are Clarence King, Delmar King, Fred Kromminga, Robert W. Dirks, Lawrence Neunaber and Minehart Zimmerman.

Elizabeth Specht will be organist. David Specht will be soloist.

She was born Meta A. Neunaber, Feb. 28, 1834, daughter of Henry Neunaber and Anna John Neunaber, Mount Olive, Ill.

She was married to Edward L. Kromminga, Sept. 19, 1906, at Castle Grove. Couple lived on a farm in Castle Grove township before moving to Anamosa in 1944.

Survivors include her husband, Edward; two daughters, Edna, Mrs. Charles Byers, Anamosa, and Mrs. Ethel Wright, Des Moines; four sons, Fernando and Richard, Monticello; Edward jr., Omaha, Nebr., and Ralph, Anamosa.

Others are a brother, John Neunaber, Anamosa; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one grandchild.
