MORLEY--Robert H. Russell died March 23 at the home of his son, Harlan.

Burial was at White Oak cemetery. Pallbearers were Orville Duncan, Ira Hempy, Merle Murfield, Harry Newman, Francis Shotwell, and Otis Siver. Funeral service was held at the United Brethren church Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. C. L. Windsor officiating.

He was the son of I. H. and Sophia Werner Russell, born in North Hampton county, Pennsylvania, Nov. 15, 1864.

In 1867 Mr. Russell came with his parents from Pennsylvania and spent all but five years of his life in Jones county.

On Sept. 28, 1890, he was married to Miss Minnie F. Miller. To this union three children were born, the daughter died in infancy, Harlan R., residing on the home farm in Greenfield township; Willard H., on the farm near Clarence.

In addition to their own sons, they gave a home to an orphan boy, Harry Lease, now living in California and also a home to Ray Embree from the age of 10 years until he was 21.

Mr. Russell took an active interest in the community, having served terms as township trustee and clerk in addition to 30 years secretary of the Bunker Hill school district and terms as assessor of Morley.

He was a member of the church of the United Brethren in Christ, holding membership in the White Oak church, transferring it to the Morley United Brethren church when the latter was erected in 1910.

IN 1926, Mr. Russell with his wife, retired from farming and purchased a home in Morley where he spent the last 17 years.

For a number of years, Mr. Russell was a member of the board of directors of the Citizens Savings bank, Olin. He was a member of Potmas lodge No. 155 A.F.& A.M., Mechanicsville.

Besides his wife and sons, he leaves three grandchildren, two brothers, George, Scotch Grove, and Ed, Mechanicsville.
