20 December 1962 - The Anamosa Eureka

MECHANICSVILLE--Donald Howard Rich, 3, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Rich, Mechanicsville, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, at S.U.I. hospital, Iowa City, from injuries received after being run over by a semi-truck in the driveway at his home.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 20, at 1:30 p.m. at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa. Rev. J. Ellis Webb officiated at the services. Burial was in Riverside cemetery, Anamosa.

He was born Sept. 13, 1959, son of Melvin Rich and Dorothy McVay Rich, at Anamosa.

Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Melvin E., Marion; and David L. at home; five sisters, Dianna, at home; Dorothy, Mrs. Richard Bailey, Marion; Donna, Mrs. Lee Bailey, Central City; Elaine, Mrs. Larry Willey, Marion; and Ruth Ann, Mrs. Russel Sickles, Marion.

Others include three half-sisters, Donna Day, Vicki Day and Doris Day, all at home; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McVay, Viola; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Anna Rich, Brooklyn Center, Minn.; and a great grandfather, Roy Covington, Marion.
