January 11, 1962 - The Anamosa Eureka

Mrs. Cloyd "Bertha" Biggart, 71, Anamosa, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 7, at an Iowa City hospital.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 2 p.m., at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa. Rev. J. Ellis Webb officiated at the services. Interment was in the Norwich cemetery, Martelle.

Pallbearers included William Norton, jr., Stephen Norton, Ed Biggart, jr., Gary Poppe, Leonard Moser and Richard Kula.

Mrs. James T. Remley was organist. Bud Norton was soloist.

She was born May 5, 1890, daughter of David Robertson and Anna Letze Robertson, Center Junction. She was married Oct. 4, 1910, to Cloyd Biggart at Olin. Couple lived in Martelle before moving to Anamosa in 1922.

Survivors include her husband, Cloyd; two sons, Farris, Cedar Rapids, and Harold, Lofton, Calif.; three daughters, Geraldine, Mrs. Clifford Bright, Oildale, Calif.; Ilene, Mrs. William Norton, Anamosa; and Mrs. Carl Poppe, Anamosa.

Others include a sister, Mrs. Jess Starry, Marion; one brother, Harold Robertson, Milwaukee, Wisc.; 19 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lucille, her parents and six brothers.
