November 8, 1962 - The Anamosa Eureka

Mrs. Virl Gearhart, 75, 403 N. Division St., Anamosa, died early Thursday morning, Nov. 8, at her home, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, at 2:30 p.m., at the Presbyterian church, Monticello. Body will be at the family home in Anamosa until 11 a.m. Saturday. Rev. G. I. Krein will officiate at the service. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Monticello. Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, is in charge of arrangements.

She was married Dec. 15, 1929, to Virl Gearhart at Kansas City, Mo. Couple lived in Monticello before moving to Anamosa in 1933.

Survivors include her husband, Virl; one son, Wilbur Cooper, Marion; six daughters, Mrs. Clarence Appleby, Mrs. Gerd Otten and Mrs. Everett Lambert, all of Monticello; Mrs. Harold Harford, Maquoketa; Mrs. Stephen Reccek, San Mateo, Calif.; and Mrs. Joe Chapman, Hopkinton.

Others include two sisters, Mrs. Julia Walton, Mechanicsville; Mrs. Cora Roher, Monticello; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
