Funeral services for Clarence E. Chamberlin, 76, were held Friday, Feb. 18, at the Olin United Methodist Church, at 11 a.m. Rev. Edward Peterson was the officiating pastor, and Mrs. Tom Levsen, organist.
Pallbearers were Marlin Laetare, Donald Bodkin, Douglas Crock, Charles Holland, Charles Hoffner and Glenn Farrington. Burial was at the Olin Cemetery.
Mr. Chamberlin died Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the Mechanicsville Care Center following an illness of several months.
He was born at Stanwood, Iowa, Jan. 29, 1906. His parents were Floyd and Amada "Amy" Maley Chamberlin. He grew up in Stanwood and attended school there.
He was married to Mae Jackson on Oct. 7, 1925, at Tipton, Iowa.
They farmed in the Stanwood and Olin area until their retirement in 1979 when they moved to Olin.
Mrs. Chamberlin and two grandsons preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sons, Gerald and Mervin, both of Olin; one daughter, Theola, Mrs. Verland McColly, Ankeny; one sister, Bernice, Mrs. Arthur Luke, Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
