Funeral service for Arnold Dethmann, 78, was held Friday, Oct. 31, at the Hayden Funeral Home in Olin. Rev. Edward Peterson and Rev. Lloyd Dutro served as officiating clergymen. Wendy Levsen was organist. Casketbearers were Carl Levsen, Grover Lorenzen, Max Levsen, John Holmes, Leo Ahrendsen and Harold Dewell. Burial was in the Olin cemetery.

Arnold was born March 14, 1902, in Cedar county, IA. His parents were Rudolph and Lena Lorenzen Dethmann. He received his education in the Jones County rural schools.

Before his retirement to Olin in 1974, he farmed with his brothers, and in 1974 received the top award for swine production from the Jones County Pork Producers Association.

His parents and one sister, Viola, preceded him in death.

Surviving him are three brothers, Oscar, Marvin and Herman, all of Olin.
